In August 1983, God responded to the spiritual needs of a very close knit family. The first Bible class began at the home of the late Assistant Pastor Kenneth E. Benjamin and Herticene Benjamin, under the anointed teaching of Bishop Henry Lee Hankins, Sr. The purpose of the bible class was to meet with immediate family members, sharing basic bible truths to fulfill the emptiness and void in their Christian walk and initiate their sincere efforts and allowing God to move mightily. Fourteen (14) family members and their children realized there was more to living than just going to church. Because of the surge of God’s anointing, the size of the first Bible class increased; therefore, a new location was sought. In May 1984, the family relocated from the Benjamin’s home to the Junkyard Bible Class (named for its location) with the purpose in mind to distinguish the difference between tradition and truth Many were led by the Holy Spirit to the Junkyard location and God added to the church daily those who were being saved (Acts 2: 47). For two years and eleven months, this basic one room facility housed the body of believers. In the year of 1985, Crusades were held in Presidential Hills, Terry, Flora, Clinton and Prentiss, MS. In the spring of 1985, the ministry qualified with Mississippi Food Network initiating the food ministry which met the needs of the needy. On April 27, 1986, Full Gospel Christian Center was organized under the auspices of Full Gospel Outreach Ministries, Inc. at the Junkyard location because of increase in fellowship. At the end of 1986, the ministry had outgrown their Junkyard location because of rapid increase in attendance. April 12, 1987, the ministry relocated to 6390 Medgar Evers Blvd, Jackson, MS, formerly the Country Place Antique Store, becoming the headquarters for Full Gospel Outreach Ministries, which housed the Full Gospel Christian Center and School of Ministry. In the spring of 1988, Crusade’s name was changed to Full Gospel Community Outreach Crusade. The purpose was not to rely on what you think, but to stand firmly on what you know according to the Word of Truth. December 1991, the reality of the vision was manifested by carry the word of truth to others, the late Assistant Pastor Kenneth E. Benjamin, Sr., and Evangelist Herticene Benjamin were commissioned to shepherd and nourish the flock in Yazoo, MS. The vision became even more of a reality by the birth of the church in Forest, MS. Pastor Raymond and Evangelist Linda Johnson were commissioned to shepherd and nourish the saints in Forest and thus the Full Gospel Worship Center established. As the vision continued, once again, the ministry relocated to its new and current location at 4491 West Northside Drive, Jackson, MS. The name, as well, changed to the Word of Truth Worship Center was dedicated on October 20, 2002. Shortly afterwards, directed by the Holy Spirit, the ministry’s name changed again to the Word of Truth Ministries International, Incorporated, and the local assembly to the Word of Truth Kingdom Church. The Word of Truth is liken to the “new Joshua generation, with an Elisha anointing and the boldness and perseverance of a Gideon Army.” Our personality is an apostolic, prophetic, deliverance and teaching ministry.
God gave the vision to Apostle Hankins regarding International Mission Outreach Network to network and link up with Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers, Pastors and Missionaries who have a heart for missions. With its incorporation, the ministry endeavors to reach the world with word of truth (Mk.16:15).
